Achin Bansal, topper of this year’s Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) has another reason to smile as the State Government on Thursday has announced that it will bear all his educational expenses.
Chief Minister Mr. Prakash Singh Badal made the announcement as he sent a congratulatory message to Achin.
The results of the prestigious IIT Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) were declared on Wednesday and Achin, son of a paediatrician in Kot Kapura town, 250 km from here in southwest Punjab, topped it from among 243,000 aspirants.
The Chief Minister added that the IIT entrance results were particularly good for Punjab this year with many candidates clearing the toughest engineering entrance test.
