The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) arrested former Advocate General Harpreet Singh for his involvement in the Ludhiana City Centre (LCC) scam here on Friday. Singh was the state Advocate General in the previous Amrinder Singh government.
The Punjab government has already submitted in court that the scandal involves nearly Rs 2000 crore in public money.
The VB has lodged cases against 18 people, including former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, his son Raninder Singh and former Minister Jagjit Singh, in connection with the allotment of over 25 acres of prime land for the LCC project, developed jointly by Ludhiana Improvement Trust and Today Homes.
The bureau had earlier arrested B I S Chahal, media advisor to Amarinder Singh, in this connection.
Amarinder and 18 others were booked on March 18 for allegedly violating all norms in patronising and abetting the dilution of terms and conditions for favouring a particular party in the project.
