PG: Metro stabilizing economy in Punjab: CM

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Justice (Retd.) Ejaz Nisar has said that setting up of modern wholesale centers and growing investment by international companies in various sectors in Punjab is a welcome step and has accelerated the pace of economic development of the province. He said that Metro Corporation is playing an important role with regard to provision of high quality items to the consumers at affordable rates.

He expressed these views during his visit to Metro Cash & Carry Store near Thokar Niazbeg, Wednesday. Managing Director Cash & Carry, Givanni Soranzo was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that modern system of marketing has helped safeguard the interests of consumers and they are getting good quality items at reasonable rates. He said that huge investment by Metro has also generated job opportunities at a large scale.

He said that a new era in agri marketing has started with the setting up Metro Stores in the provincial metropolis and farmers are getting better returns for their produce.

Managing Director Metro Cash & Carry, Givanni Soranzo said that trade activities of Metro Corporation are helping in modernizing the system of retail marking. He said that in addition to Punjab, Metro is also expanding its network of whole sale centers throughout Pakistan.

He said that besides another branch of Metro in Lahore, it will soon establish its branch in Islamabad as well. He assured that Metro will continue to play an active role for the economic progress of the country. The Chief Minister visited various sections of Metro Cash & Carry Store and appreciated the quality of items.
