OVER 1,000 luxury flats - all fully furnished, centrally air-conditioned and with swimming pools and lawns - will be up for grabs in Sector 20 shortly.
The first phase of the housing project features as many as 168 three bedroom flats. Each flat will have an area of 1,500 square feet and be brought up within 18 months from the day the booking ends.
“This three bedroom luxury apartment will cost about Rs 54 lakh to be paid in instalments,” says Vinod Bagai, managing director of the private company which been granted the licence by HUDA for the housing project on nearly 22 acres of land in Sector 20.
Bagai, who says the flats are aimed at the rich, adds that there is a way to purchase the flat if you want to pay less.
“While the apartments will be given on a first-come first-served basis, 100 apartments will be given to people by draw of lots,” Bagai said. These flats will be sold at a discounted price and have the additional attraction of prices, which include cars.
“Within a fortnight we will advertise for the first phase of three bedroom apartments,” the managing director said.
Housing societies have been attracting buyers and the success of luxury housing societies will be an indicator of the demand from high-end customers in Panchkula. It could open the doors for similar high-cost housing ventures.
Sources say a few other companies are lining up to get licences from HUDA for housing projects.
Wooden flooring and facilities like a club, a 24-hour power back-up, a terrace swimming pool, shopping and community centres are to come up in the second phase. There will also be two bedroom and four bedroom flats.
“‘While the four bedroom apartment of 1,850 sq ft will cost Rs 67 lakh, the two bedroom flat will come for a price of Rs 38 lakh,” Bagai said. He added that the project is likely to be completed over the next three years.
Asked how his high-priced flats would attract buyers, Bagai countered that the flats were not expensive going by the facilities that are being provided.
