A woman, who is mother of three children, accused her husband of getting married illegally without seeking a divorce from her. Manjit Kaur, a resident of village Borali is running from pillar to post to get justice.
While addressing a press conference on Sunday along with activists of a Human Rights Organisation, Manjit said that she married to Jasvir Singh, of village Kamali of district Fatehgarh Sahib on November 30 and live together peacefully for 10 years.
She said that her husband was a bus conductor and forgot his three children Manpreet Kaur(10), Rajbir Singh(8) and Jashanpreet Kaur(9) to live with a woman Sarabjit Kaur of Samrala after marrying her.
Manjit said when she approached Jasvir Singh’s new in-laws and told them he had already married, Karnail Singh expressed ignorance about it and when he asked from her daughter Sarabjit Kaur, she admitted that Jasbir Singh has already married and father of three children. Karnail Singh then disowned Sarabjit Kaur.
Manjit Kaur said that around 4 months ago Jasvir left his home that now is duty is on Ludhiana Jammu rout and he will return home only after 15-20 days. He came to his home at village Kmali on January 26 and she noticed some change in him as there was mehndi on his hand and he wore a some gold ornaments.
When she asked him about him, he threatened him. She said that she told his mother on night that he got married again but did not return home since January 26. Manjit Kaur alleged that when her in-laws family started to harass her, she along with her three children had gone to her parental house. Her father Labh Singh is a government employee and when they reached Badali Aala Singh police post they were asked to complain at Samrala police station.
When the Samrala police did not take action, she complained to SAS Nager police on February 13. Now SAS Nager DSP Raka Ghira is inquiring the case.
