The week-old deadlock between the employees of Mohali Municipal Council (MC) and the district administration on Wednesday reached flashpoint with striking civic staffers threatening to snap essential services like power and water supply, sanitation and streetlight services indefinitely in entire Mohali from Thursday.
As their demand to cancel an FIR lodged against the animal catching staff of the MC on charges of causing death of a stray bull on September 17 was not fulfilled despite repeated assurances, the MC employees today went out on the roads to block traffic, gherao police station, stage dharna and take out massive protest rally in different parts of the city.
