Chandigarh Administration offers joint partnership to HRANI

A delegation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India (HRANI) led by its President Vijay Pande called on Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Gen (Retd) S F Rodrigues, PVSM VSM at Punjab Raj Bhavan and discussed the broad road map for giving a further fillip to the tourism industry in the region.

General Rodrigues impressed upon the members of the delegation the need to effectively participate in policy formation and implementation process and offered a joint venture partnership for the growth and development of this vital sector of the economy. The focus should be on empowering members from disadvantaged sections with professional skills and by providing them with gainful employment. He further assured them that the matters relating to VAT in hospitality units and the exemption of Excise Duty on security equipments in hotel industry would be considered sympathetically.

Besides senior officers including M P Singh, Secretary to Governor, Sanjay Kumar, Finance Secretary, R K Rao, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh the other members of the delegation were Girish Oberoi, Gurvinder Juneja, Arvinder Pal Singh, Ankit Gupta, Man Mohan Singh, Surinder Jeet Singh, Dr Sandeep Arora and Dr Zora Singh.
