Panchkula XI return with Twenty20 trophy

THE Panchkula XI has returned after winning the first Haryana State Twenty20 Cricket Tournament. The tournament was held at DAV Senior Secondary School, Panipat Thermal ground.

They defeated Rohtak XI by just four runs in a thrilling final. In the final match which was played on Sunday, Panchkula XI’s Harish Garg hammered 68 runs including four sixes and three boundaries while his team-mate Tejwinder Gill contributed 45 runs including six huge sixes and a four to hand their team victory.

Batting first, Panchkula XI piled up a total of 189 runs over a loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the trget, Rohtak XI could make only 185 runs over a loss of eight wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by four runs. There key batsman Sachin played well as he made 74 runs with the help of seven sixes and three fours.

Umesh Kaira scalped three wickets conceding 35 runs while Vishal Sahney claimed 2 wickets for 40 runs for the Panchkula team. Jagdish Garg was declared the Man of the Series while Sachin (Rohtak XI) took home the Man of the Match trophy.
