Rajasthan Royals set Kings XI Punjab 212 to win

A scintillating opening stand of 135 between Graeme Smith and Naman Ojha took the Rajasthan Royals to a massive total of 211 for 4 wickets, the highest in this Edition of the Indian Premier League.

Graeme Smith hit a rich vein of form after new opening partner Ojha took a heavy toll of Rajesh Powar’s first over, as the off spinner opened the Kings XI attack.

With Graeme Smith scoring 77 off 47 balls and Naman Ojha 68 off 51 balls, it just needed some lusty cameos from the other batsmen to take the Royals above 200 for the first time in IPL2.

Ravindra Jadeja hit 33 off 12 balls, Lee Carseldine 16 off 9 and Yusuf Pathan 12 off 7 balls as the Punjab bowling attack wilted.

Earlier, Kings XI Punjab captain Yuvraj Singh won the toss and opted to bowl against title-holders Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Kingsmead here Tuesday.

A win to the Kings XI will catapult them into the top of the league table while Rajasthan Royals will be looking forward to getting off the bottom of the table, where they are just above the Kolkata Knight Riders.
